Need a Shared Branch? Look For a 7-11 Store

LAS VEGAS — Financial Service Centers Cooperative has signed an agreement with 7-11 stores which will allow any credit union member whose credit union participates in shared branching to conduct shared branching transactions at 1,052 of the convenience stores in three to six months.

The network plans to add an additional 1,200 locations in 2007, according to FSCC CEO Sarah Canepa Bang.

The transactions will take place using the Vcom kiosks already available in many 7-11 locations. Vcom kiosks are manufactured by NCR and have been most widely used in the past as ATMs and as check cashing outlets.

“We are going to revolutionize the delivery of financial services by what we are doing,” Bang said. “This is something the banks do not have, only credit union members will have the ability to access their accounts comprehensively from 7-11 stores, to make withdrawals, deposits and transfers,” Bang said. - dmorrison@cutimes.com
